This article explains how to flash the firmware on the Dactyl Manuform keyboard you purchased.

3.How to flash firmware

To flash the firmware for the split keyboard (left and right halves), each side must be flashed separately. Do not connect the left and right 3.5mm audio interconnect cable during this process. For example:

1. Connect the left half to the computer, open the VIAL remapping software, and map the Reset key value to any keyboard button position.
2. Click the newly mapped Reset button. A new drive named RPI-RP2 will pop up, and VIAL will temporarily disconnect (ignore this).
3. Drag the downloaded left-side firmware into the drive. After a brief wait, VIAL will reload, indicating the left firmware flash is complete.
   Repeat the same steps for the right half by connecting it separately to the computer.
   After flashing both halves:

• Disconnect the USB keyboard cable from the computer temporarily.
• Then connect the left and right 3.5mm audio interconnect cable (hot-swapping is not supported and may damage hardware).
• Finally, reconnect the USB cable to the computer for normal use.
